SANTAM SAFETY INNOVATION CHALLENGE WITH LAUNCHLAB ANNOUNCES KNOWLEDGE ACCELERATION PROGRAMME WINNERS
At an evening filled with excitement, the LaunchLab concluded another successful Knowledge Acceleration Programme (KAP) Pitching Final Event which took place at the Nedbank Stellenbosch University LaunchLab on the 29th of March; where 10 aspiring entrepreneurs pitched their safety business ideas to a panel of judges in front of a live audience.
The Santam Safety Ideas KAP winners are named as follows:
- Zieter Dermatien and Jonathan Shutte from Bomvu Stake
- Tharine de Lange from Guardian Angel Safezones
- Mbulelo Mpofana from Trafficeye
- Nthandoyenkosi Shezi from Jonga
Each of these winners wins further support from Santam and deepening links into the business to help ensure success. These businesses have gained entry to the Countdown Programme, which is a pre-accelerator aimed at getting business accelerator ready. This includes incubation support from the LaunchLab and partners for the next 4 months to be used to launch and further grow their business ideas. Santam will be carefully monitoring the development of these business ideas during this time to gauge their potential see if they can partner further and invest in these businesses.

The KAP is a fourteen-week action-learning entrepreneurship development programme which forms part of the LaunchLab’s Lift-off Incubation process and is designed to develop the practicing and aspiring entrepreneur’s business planning and management skills, and in doing so, develops the foundation for building a successful business.
The content of this programme has been provided by the Centre of Entrepreneurship of Regent University in Virginia, USA, and will be facilitated by experienced coaches and mentors who have been accredited by Mentors and Business Coaches International (MBCI). Entrepreneurs will learn how to better plan and manage key aspects of their businesses to enable better structure and growth of their businesses and to stay competitive.

- Designing competitive business models
- Managing cash-flow, profit & loss estimation and pricing
- Marketing strategy and planning skills
