Students Programmes

Get involved with the top university business incubator in Africa

This year, in partnership with Innovus, the industry interaction office of the University, and the SRC, we are promoting and actively driving a host of student centered initiatives (IdeaSmash, Student Entrepreneurship week, Innovus Bootcamp and Hackhathon) together.

The overall goal is to foster problem solving capabilities among students, to promote thought leadership and responsible entrepreneurial engagements.

The Fellowship Programme

The 2019 LaunchLab Fellowship program has commenced and we are proud to announce that we are looking for Stellenbosch University students who are looking for ways to express their leadership qualities through entrepreneurial undertakings.

This year, our program is themed around the fourth industrial revolution and its impact on human productivity across disciplines.

The Fellows will help us drive student related programs and we are excited about the opportunity that lies ahead.

Fellowship Objectives

We have aligned our programme with Stellenbosch University’s strategic objective, to be Africa’s leading research-intensive University, globally recognized as excellent, inclusive, and innovative.  We see the Fellowship program as a way to work with an elite group of Students that can help us actualize this objective.

The 2019 fellowship objective is mainly to select and elite crop of Student Ambassadors that can:

  1. Build momentum for high-tech entrepreneurship by engaging with the LaunchLab community.
  2. Grow your professional network and gain possible internship and work opportunities within the startup ecosystem in the Western Cape.
  3. Help create momentum for entrepreneurship by helping to coordinate events and other forms of educational and social activities on behalf of the LaunchLab for the wider student community in Stellenbosch.

The Fellowship program is a non-paid voluntary internship program that is very lightweight on commitment, but an effective way to build your professional network and CV while studying here at Stellenbosch University, thereby giving you an edge upon the completion of your tenure.
